Green Energy
Programme
The NUS Flagship Green Energy Programme is a University-level Programme established in 2018. Our team of distinguished researchers and rising young talent from the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Science has expertise ranging from catalyst design, characterisation, molecular modelings to systems and process engineering.
Our Mission is to develop scalable catalytic technologies that convert CO2 into green liquid fuels as affordable, ecologically-balanced energy solutions.
Our Programme represents a major step towards establishing NUS as a center of excellence to champion carbon-neutral fuel technologies – key to solving the global energy and environment issues.
Our Approach. The key challenge for green solar fuel synthesis from carbon dioxide is to develop highly effective and selective catalysts that enable the transformation, ideally operating at relatively low temperature and pressure. To ensure technological readiness and practical implementation, we reinforce and accelerate this process with ab initio modeling studies, advanced in situ spectroscopic investigations; coupled with intensive process design and optimisation, economic analysis and life-cycle evaluation.
