NUS Green Energy will be hosting ‘SHINE’ on 1-2 August 2019

Jul 17, 2019

Keeping global temperature increase ≤2˚C (or even ≤1.5˚C) is our target. Beyond that, the damage we have created would be difficult or impossible to reverse. Luckily this problem can be solved – collectively, with multiple approaches, starting today. We need to intensify our efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, conserve and enhance sinks and reservoirs, and most importantly develop a viable, sustainable solution – green fuels as an energy source that is both ecologically-balanced and affordable.

In our 3rd workshop: Sunshine into New Energy (SHINE), we will discuss how to make energy-dense fuels from sunshine, CO2 and H2O. Topics include: CO2 capture, storage and utilisation; H2O splitting, hydrogenation, the use of catalysts, membranes, and thermodynamics to drive this transformation forward; methods and

tools to characterize, enhance, and accelerate this process; and the overarching topics of systems integration, economics and sustainability.

We sincerely hope that you will join us and have fun, immerse yourself in open dialogues about the challenges faced, and foster rewarding collaborations both locally and internationally. [SHINE (2019)]
