Hydrogen Energy ALternatives (HEAL)
Green Hydrogen Centre @ NUS
Hydrogen Energy ALternative (HEAL) centre aims to heal and safeguard our planet with innovative hydrogen powered technologies to enable deep decarbonization across the industrial, power, and mobility sectors. The centre brings together hydrogen technologies leaders from Engineering, Chemistry, Physics and Biology in a cohesive team, combining individual talents and resources to address major energy challenges. Jointly funded by the National agencies and National University of Singapore University, HEAL plays the leading role in National Research, Development and Deployment of innovative hydrogen energy technologies in Singapore. Leveraging on the University’s established hydrogen energy development and cutting edge facilities, the centre provides a platform for the experimental and theoretical development of renewable hydrogen production, storage and conversion as well as energy policies, techno-economic and social-ecological issues. It has established that HEAL undertakes programs of fundamental and applied research for improving and developing commercially viable hydrogen solutions, especially those that are coupled to renewable and sustainable options. The Centre is the green energy hub network for collaborative projects between the University and other academic and industrial partners to facilitate the proliferation of hydrogen based sectors. Other function of the centre is to raise public awareness of green hydrogen for Singapore’s future of a sustainable and decarbonized society.
