Project ID: FY19-9

To develop near- ambient-pressure XPS technique for in-situ investigation of surface catalytic reaction mechanism relevant to CO2 reduction and other small molecules activation.

We mainly focus on:

  1. upgrading of NAP-XPS system with an in-situ high temperature and high pressure reaction cell, and
  2. investigation of the electronic structure changes of ZnO polar surfaces after CO2, O2 and H2 exposure using in situ NAP-XPS.

Incorporated Programmes:

We aim to develop efficient and robust catalyst to drive CO2 reduction and hydrogenation into energy dense fuel. We have 4 teams working synergistically on Electrocatalysts, Integrated Nanocatalysts, and Single-atom Catalysts.
