To develop a single-flow process for methanol synthesis by doping, to enhance the activation of CO2 hydrogenation while stabilizing Cu from oxidation.
We plan to test a series of single-atom alloy catalyst based on Cu, where Cu is dominant. The purpose of the second metal is to activate CO2 and to stabilize Cu from being oxidized by CO2 under the reaction condition, and therefore enable stable Cu-M catalyst for methanol synthesis under milder conditions. We plan to encapsulate these alloy particles inside zeolite to enable methanol synthesis and MOT process in a single flow mode.
